This type was originally defined by Gordon Willey for the Florida Gulf Coast.
Named after the Weeden Island site, 8Pi1 in Pinellas County, Florida.
Same as for Weeden Island Incised except that bands of background area are colored by red hematite paint, creating a zoned red-filmed area.
Late Woodland Weeden Island period.
