This is the name that Arthur Kelly and Robert Neitzel felt should have been given to the type Savannah Complicated Stamped in the Hartwell Reservoir area and .
"Archeological hindsight might more properly designate this type as Piedmont Complicated Stamped, rather than tag it with a coastal geographical designation" (Kelly and Neitzel 1961:39).
